Friday night’s loss to the Ducks proved to be costly in more ways than one for the Blues.
Not only did they blow a a 3-1 lead, but they also lost Paul Stastny, Jay Bouwmeester and Jake Allen.
None of those three will be available for Saturday’s game against Los Angeles. That means the Blues will start backup goalie Brian Elliott against the Kings.
Scottie Upshall and Roberto Bortuzzo will replace Stastny and Bouwmeester.
Elliott turned aside 25 of 27 shots in Friday’s loss to the Ducks.
The Blues recalled Jordan Binnington from the minors on Satureday. He’ll serve as Elliott’s backup.
Expect Jonathan Quick to be between the pipes for Los Angeles.
—Jonathan Bernier will get the start against the Sharks. He’s won each of his last three starts and has allowed just three goals during that span. Expect the Sharks to go with Martin Jones.
—Cam Ward will start for the Hurricanes. He’s coming off a 35-save performance in a win over Columbus on Friday. It looks like the Jackets will counter with Joonas Korpisalo.
–Expect Tuukka Rask, who was rested in last night’s win over New Jersey, to get the start against Ottawa. Craig Anderson will get the call for the Senators.
—Marc-Andre Fleury will start in his home province. Mike Condon will make his second consecutive start for the Habs.
–The Wild will turn to Devan Dubnyk against the Stars. Antti Niemi and his 16-7-4 record will face Minnesota.
–The Predators haven’t confirmed who their starter will be, but expect Pekka Rinne to be the guy. Louis Domingue will be between the pipes for Arizona.
–Like the Predators, Tampa Bay hasn’t divulged their starter yet. Jacob Markstrom will make his seventh straight start for Vancouver.
