NHL goalies often make the right choices and the right moves when they decide to leave their nets to cut off a breakaway or other situation.
This ... was not one of those times.
St. Louis Blues goalie Jake Allen rolled the dice in overtime, but it all came up Gabriel Landeskog, who tapped in an easy game-winner. You can see his delight in the video above on that 4-3 overtime goal.
While that gaffe will burn for Allen, this stands as another troubling situation in which St. Louis failed to protect a lead. They were up 3-1 about a minute into the second period, yet they found themselves on the losing end of this one.
It’s something that should probably end up embarrassing everyone, not just Allen.
Brouwer: "We had a positive feeling. We were up 3-1 and we were playing good hockey. I thought we played well enough to win ... (1/2)

and that's why there's not a very good feeling in here. We've got to find ways to close teams out. It's been way too many times this season"
