Nashville made an interesting move on Tuesday, signing forward Frederick Gaudreau -- the top point-getter on its minor-league affiliate -- to a two-year, entry-level contract.

Gaudreau, 22, was never drafted and caught on with the Preds last year, splitting time between AHL Milwaukee and ECHL Cincinnati. His progression has been pretty impressive -- this is his first full campaign in the American League and, through 34 games, he has nine goals and 24 points.

What’s more, Gaudreau is doing it on the best team in the Western Conference. The Admirals have enjoyed a terrific start to the campaign, going 23-10-2.
