Fowler’s sprained knee will keep him out for 3-to-5 more weeks

CamFowler2

The Anaheim Ducks will be without one of their top defensemen for quite some time, as Cam Fowler will miss 4-to-6 weeks with a sprained knee.

Fowler suffered the injury in last Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The 24-year-old has already missed one week, which means he’ll be out for 3-to-5 more.

He should return between late-January and mid-February.

Fowler averages 22:38 per game, so his prolonged absence will definitely leave a void on Anaheim’s blue line.

His injury has opened the door for former first rounder Shea Theodore.

The 20-year-old has suited up in all three games that Fowler’s missed. Theodore has averaged just over 16 minutes of ice time during his first taste of NHL action.

Anaheim is two points behind Vancouver for the third seed in the Pacific Division.
