Eichel’s two goals aren’t enough, as Wings top Sabres

Jack Eichel did his part, but it wasn’t enough.

With his team down 2-0 in the second period, the 19-year-old cut Detroit’s lead to 2-1 with this power play goal:

He followed that up with a beautiful breakaway goal to tie the game just three minutes later:

Henrik Zetterberg gave Detroit a 3-2 lead early in the third before Sam Reinhart leveled the score.

Unfortunately for Buffalo, it just wasn’t meant to be, as Tomas Tatar potted the winning goal with under three minutes remaining (above).

The loss pushes Buffalo’s losing streak to four games, while the Red Wings put an end to their three-game losing skid.
