Video: Oilers’ Nurse takes on Lucic for first career NHL fight

For his first career NHL regular season fight, Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse decided to drop the gloves with one of the toughest in the league in Milan Lucic.

The fight occurred in the first period of Tuesday’s game between the Oilers and L.A. Kings. It happened after the six-foot-three-inch, 233-pound Lucic threw a hit along the boards, causing the 20-year-old Nurse, listed at six-foot-four-inches tall and 213 pounds, to step in. The two exchanged words before deciding to go.

The Kings, leaders in the Pacific Division, powered their way to a 5-2 victory -- their second win in as many nights and third in four days since the schedule resumed from the holiday break.
