Carlson can’t go for Caps, ending games played streak at 412 games

For the first time since 2010, John Carlson is unable to play for the Washington Capitals.

He gave the pre-game skate a try on Monday, but ultimately couldn’t make it against the Buffalo Sabres, ending his consecutive games played streak at an impressive 412 games.

It’s not as if the 25-year-old was just getting in games, either, as he’s quietly become a key defenseman in Washington.

Carlson already has 27 points in 34 games this season, and he’s not really a slouch in his own end, either.

The Capitals hope to keep their winning streak going without him.
