Healthy scratch coming? Bylsma says Moulson ‘needs to get back to playing the way he can’

The last time we wrote on Matt Moulson, it was in relation to his career-worst 18-game goalless slump.

It doesn’t appear things have gotten much better.

While head coach Dan Bylsma would neither confirm nor deny, Moulson looks like he could be a healthy scratch — for the first time this season — when the Sabres take on the Bruins in Boston tonight.

Moulson’s goalless streak is currently at 22 games and, on the year, he has just four in 34 contests.

Should he sit as a healthy scratch, it’ll probably generate some headlines. In the second of a five-year, $25 million deal — with a fairly hefty $5M average annual cap hit — Moulson is Buffalo’s third highest-paid forward.
