Predators prospect Vladislav Kamenev has been named captain of Team Russia’s World Junior Hockey squad.

The 19-year-old was Nashville’s second round pick, 42nd overall, in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

This isn’t the first time Kamenev has served as captain for his country. He also wore the “C” for the national team at the U-18 tournament in 2013-14.

After spending the majority of the last two seasons with Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the KHL, Kamenev came to North America this year.

He has six goals and 14 points in 24 games with the Predators’ AHL affiliate in Milwaukee.

Kamenev had one goal and four points in seven games during last year’s World Junior tournament.

The 2015 silver medalists have several high-end prospects and they should be in the hunt for gold again in 2016.
