The Tampa Bay Lightning are starting to roll.
Not only did they win their third game in their last four on Sunday, but it also looks like Steven Stamkos has woken up from his scoring slumber.
Stamkos scored two goals in a 5-2 win over the Ottawa Senators.
His first goal was scored in typical Stamkos fashion:
Stamkos’ second goal was scored into an empty net.
After going 10 games without a goal (between Nov. 25 and Dec. 15), the 25-year-old has three in his last two contests.
It’s hard to believe that his pending free agency isn’t weighing on him, but he seems to be playing “looser” since he spoke to the Tampa Bay Times about wanting to stay put long-term.
The 25-year-old has 14 goals and 25 points in 34 games in 2015-16.
