The Arizona Coyotes will have to turn to their third string goaltender in Saturday’s game against the New York Islanders.

With Mike Smith out with a lower-body injury and Anders Lindback sick, Louis Domingue will be between the pipes tonight.

Lindback and Domingue weren’t very good in a 7-5 loss to the Jackets earlier this week.

The 23-year-old allowed two goals on 10 shots in his only NHL appearance of the season.

“We need better goaltending,” Tippett said after the loss. “We need to play tighter in front of our goaltender, and one of the ways you can play tighter in front of your goaltender is to defend better but another way is your puck play has to be better so you defend less.”

Domingue appeared in seven games last season and had a 1-2-1 record with a 2.73 goals-against-average and a .911 save percentage.

The Islanders will start Jaroslav Halak.

Elsewhere...

-Mike Condon will make his second straight starts for the Canadiens. The Stars will probably have Antti Niemi between the pipes.

-Steve Mason, who’s coming off a shutout of the Canucks, will start for Philadelphia. The Blue Jackets will counter with rookie Joonas Korpisalo.

-Cam Ward will be in goal for the ‘Canes, as they take on former GM Jim Rutherford’s team. Look for the Penguins to give Matthew Murray his first NHL start, but that hasn’t been confirmed just yet.

-The Ducks haven’t announced a starting goaltender fr their game against New Jersey. The Devils will turn to backup goaltender Keith Kinkaid.

-Jonathan Quick is the likely starter in tonight’s game against the Leafs. He’s coming off a 45-save shutout against the Montreal Canadiens. Toronto will have no choice but to play Jonathan Bernier, as both Garret Sparks and James Reimer are injured.

-Devan Dubnyk will make his second start since returning from a groin injury. The Predators haven’t announced a starter, but expect them to go with Pekka Rinne.

-Anders Nilsson will get the nod against for the Oilers. He’s 5-1-0 in his last six starts. Semyon Varlamov, who might just be the hottest goalie in the NHL right now, will start for Colorado.
