Looks like we’re on the precipice of a McDavid Watch.

Connor McDavid, Edmonton’s prized rookie phenom, has resumed skating -- a significant step in his recovery from a broken clavicle, per Sportsnet.

The 18-year-old, who hasn’t played since Nov. 3, is working alongside injured linemate Nail Yakupov, who’s been out since late November with an ankle sprain.

The two are operating under the supervision of Oilers skating coach David Pelletier.

According to Sportsnet’s Mark Spector, McDavid is expected to resume practicing “any time after mid-January.”

“Connor is not shooting yet,” agent Jeff Jackson explained. “The Oilers have a time line, with different milestones where he can do certain things on the ice. He’ll move towards puck handling soon.”

McDavid was off to a terrific start in his first NHL campaign, with 12 points in 13 games. He’d developed good chemistry on Edmonton’s second line next to Yakupov and Benoit Pouliot, who is also out injured -- Pouliot was placed on IR (lower body) on Dec. 5, and has missed Edmonton’s last eight games.
