New York Islanders prospect Michael Dal Colle was cut from Team Canada’s World Junior roster on Sunday, per TSN.
It’s the second year in a row that the former fifth overall pick in 2014 fails to make Canada’s roster.
After scoring 42 goals and 93 points for the Oshawa Generals last season, the 19-year-old has just seven goals and 23 points in 27 games this season.

Team Canada also cut Pierre-Luc Dubois, Spencer Watson (Los Angeles Kings) and Jakob Chychrun.
Canada has 14 forwards left on their roster, but they only have 13 spots available. That doesn’t include the potential arrival of Canucks forward Jake Virtanen.
TSN’s Mark Masters also reported that Team Canada is fairly optimistic that Vancouver will make Virtanen available for the tournament.
Team Canada seems optimistic about getting Virtanen... no official word... game ongoing at Ricoh
