Mike Condon has done a relatively nice job in Carey Price’s absence, but his play has dropped off of late.

Condon isn’t used to having such a heavy workload, so it’s normal for him to be a little fatigued.

The guy Condon beat out in training camp, Dustin Tokarski, made his season debut in Thursday’s 3-2 loss to Detroit.

Tokarski may not have picked up the win, but he definitely left an impression on Montreal’s coaching staff because he’ll be back between the pipes against Ottawa tonight.

The 26-year-old made several key saves against the Red Wings, including stopping numerous breakaways.

What does this mean for the Canadiens’ crease going forward?

With Carey Price out for at least another month, expect coach Michel Therrien to distribute starts based on merit.

Will Montreal make a trade? Maybe, but for now they’ll have to stick with what they have.

Tonight’s game against the Senators will be a rematch of last year’s first round matchup, which the Canadiens won in six games.

Craig Anderson, who always gives Montreal a hard time, will be between the pipes for Ottawa.

Elsewhere...

-The Kings will give starter Jonathan Quick the night off, as Jhonas Enroth will start against Buffalo. Linus Ullmark will get the call for the Sabres.

-The Capitals and Lightning have a number of great offensive players, but a matchup between Braden Holtby and Ben Bishop is always entertaining.

-Jaroslav Halak will get the start for the Islanders. The Blue Jackets will counter with de facto starter Curtis McElhinney.

-Semyon Varlamov will get the call for the Avalanche. The Predators haven’t confirmed their starter yet, but look for Pekka Rinne to be in goal. He’s coming off a 35-save performance in a 5-1 win over Chicago.

-Like the Preds, the Stars have yet to confirm their starter, while Jake Allen will be between the pipes for the Blues. Allen got the night off in Thursday’s game against Philadelphia, so he should be well-rested.

-Cam Ward is expected to get the start in tonight’s game against the Coyotes. With Mike Smith out, Anders Lindback may be between the pipes for the second night in a row. Lindback and the ‘Yotes defeated the Minnesota Wild last night.

-After Henrik Lundqvist got pulled in Edmonton on Friday night, the Rangers may opt to give Antti Raanta the start against Calgary. The Flames still haven’t confirmed who their starter will be, but Jonas Hiller is expected to be the guy.

-Darcy Kuemper will look to earn his first win of the 2015-16 season. The Sharks will counter with starter Martin Jones.
