Competition can push you to get better and make you raise your game. Sometimes it doesn’t bring out the best in you, though.
Saturday provided two (unintentionally?) amusing moments of players throwing, well, fits in eventual defeats.
The most rumblings came from Jake Allen, who may or may not have shown up Ken Hitchcock in seemingly being only briefly pulled from Saturday’s eventual 4-1 St. Louis Blues loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs:
Despite getting the franchise’s first hat trick from a defenseman (Shea Weber), the Nashville Predators coughed up a lead to the Detroit Red Wings and lost 5-4 in overtime.
Not either players’ best moment … but kind of funny for the rest of us, right?
