Bishop continues dominance over Ducks

Ben Bishop has owned the Ducks throughout his NHL career and that didn’t change on Wednesday night.

The 29-year-old turned in a dominant performance at the Honda Center, as he stopped 32 of 33 shots in his team’s 2-1 win over Anaheim.

Bishop made several key saves throughout the evening, including this one on Shawn Horcoff:

The Lightning goaltender remains unbeaten in regulation against the Ducks in his career.

“The last couple of years I just seem to play well against them, no rhyme or reason,’’ Bishop told the Tampa Tribune. “I don’t know why that is. ... I have no clue.’’

The Bolts also got a great performance from sophomore forward Jonathan Drouin.

Drouin, who made a return to lineup after missing six games because of an undisclosed injury, scored the Lightning’s first goal and set up Jonathan Marchessault’s game-winner.

Coach Jon Cooper was singing Drouin’s praises after the game.

The Lightning continue their west coast swing with games in San Jose and Los Angeles on Saturday and Sunday.
