Johnny Gaudreau ended his five-game goalless drought in style during Saturday’s 2-1 overtime win over the Chicago Blackhawks.
Moments after Mark Giordano and Sean Monahan missed on quality scoring opportunities, Gaudreau took it upon himself to end the game with this beauty:
The 22-year-old seems to like the new 3-on-3 overtime format.

Gaudreau finished the game with an impressive stat line. He had two points, a plus-2 rating, two penalty minutes and six shots on goal in just over 20 minutes of ice time.
For the ‘Hawks, Patrick Kane extended his point streak to 15 games with his assist on Artem Anisimov’s power play goal in the first period.
Kane has 13 goals and 31 points in 20 games this season.
Chicago will play the third game of their six-game road trip on Saturday night in Vancouver.
