With Olli Maatta sidelined because of an upper-body injury, the Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled David Warsofsky from the AHL.
Warsofsky signed a one-year deal with Penguins during the off-season. The 25-year-old played in four games with the Boston Bruins in 2014-15.
He has two goals and six points in 13 games with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Maatta was hurt after being sent into the boards awkwardly by Wild forward Nino Niederreiter on Tuesday night.
The 21-year-old is expected to miss three-to-four weeks of action because of the injury.
