The 2015-16 season hasn’t been kind to the Flyers and they received more bad news on Saturday.
The team announced that they’ve placed defenseman Mark Streit and forward R.J. Umberger (lower body) on injured reserve. The’ve also activated Pierre-Edouard Bellemare from the injured list.
Streit will have surgery to repair a pubic plate detachment and is expected to be out for six weeks.

In a corresponding move, Philadelphia has recalled forward Taylor Leier and defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere from AHL Lehigh Valley.
Leier was the Flyers’ fourth round pick in 2012 and has never skated in an NHL game. The 21-year-old has four goals and nine points in 14 AHL contests this season.
Gostisbehere played in two games with the Flyers last season. He’s scored two goals and 10 points in 14 games with Lehigh Valley.
