Not a good day in Boston.

David Pastrnak, the club’s impressive rookie from last year, failed to return Tuesday from a lingerning foot injury while Alexander Khokhlachev, who’s been tearing it up with AHL Providence, will reportedly miss the next 4-6 weeks following hand surgery.

First up, Pastrnak, from CSNNE:

[Bruins head coach Claude Julien] didn’t sound all that optimistic on Pastrnak.

“He’s still not ready to go, obviously. I haven’t heard much from our training staff,” said Julien, who thought Pastrnak’s foot originally ruled a bone contusion was being reevaluated on Tuesday. “They told me he’s not available, so it doesn’t look good, I guess, as we speak.

“I thought I was expecting him to be back today, so we’ll see what comes out of that.”

The club’s first-round pick (25th overall) at the 2014 Draft, Pastrnak has missed the last four games with the ailment. It’s a pretty notable loss, considering he had four points in his first 10 games of the year and was playing on the highly-productive David Krejci-Loui Eriksson line.

Next up, Khokhlachev, from the Providence Journal:

Khokhlachev, the 40th overall pick in 2011, appeared in two games for the Bruins this year but failed to make an impact, going pointless.

He has been very good for Providence, however, leading the team with 13 points in 11 games.
