NHL on NBC: Blues visit Chicago in latest Rivalry Night installment

A great Central Division battle will be renewed on Wednesday, when Vladimir Tarasenko and the St. Louis Blues take on Jonathan Toews and the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center.

You can watch the game via NBC Sports’ Live Extra

The Blues head into tonight’s action sitting second in the division, three points back of first-place Dallas. Last night, they had their three-game winning streak snapped by the visiting Los Angeles Kings, who rode strong performances from Jhonas Enroth, Drew Doughty and Jeff Carter to a 3-0 victory.

The Blackhawks also played their last game against the Kings, but had a decidedly different outcome.

The offense didn’t just produce — it seemed to find its groove in the third period of Monday’s 4-2 win, scoring three times on Kings starter Jonathan Quick.

Head coach Joel Quenneville put together some new look lines — moving Artemi Panarin off the Patrick KaneArtem Anisimov line, and skating him on the top unit with Jonathan Toews — and the shuffling seemed to pay off for everyone, as all of Chicago’s top-six forwards finished the game with at least one point.

As for the health statuses of both clubs…

St. Louis is really banged up at the moment, and will be without the services of Paul Stastny, Patrik Berglund, Jaden Schwartz and Kevin Shattenkirk.

Chicago will be without veteran winger Marian Hossa tonight, along with defensemen Duncan Keith and Michal Rozsival.
