NHL on NBCSN: Tarasenko returns as Blues host Kings

NBCSN will continue its coverage of the 2015-16 campaign tonight when the St. Louis Blues host the Los Angeles Kings at 8:30 p.m. ET. If you want to watch the game online, you can do so here.

After dropping their first three games by a combined score of 12-2, the Los Angeles Kings have really found their legs.

Before Monday night’s loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, the Kings had won seven games in row.

A big reason for the Los Angeles’ success is because of the performances they’re getting between the pipes. In his six starts during the winning streak, Jonathan Quick allowed more than two goals just once. The 29-year-old has a 6-4-0 record with a 2.28 goals-against-average and a .918 save percentage this season, but with him getting the start yesterday, the Kings may turn to Jhonas Enroth in this one.

Tyler Toffoli was held without a point on Monday. It was just the second time in eight games that he failed to get his name on the scoresheet.

The 23-year-old has nine goals in 11 games this season. That puts him on pace for a 67-goal season. He probably won’t reach that number, but the progression he’s made from year two to year three is certainly noticeable.

The Blues have been ravaged by injuries throughout the season.

In Saturday’s OT win over Minnesota, they were without Paul Stastny, Vladimir Tarasenko, Jaden Schwartz, Kevin Shattenkirk and Patrik Berglund.

They did get some good news on Monday, as Tarasenko will make his return to the lineup against the Kings. The 23-year-old has six goals and 10 points in 10 games in 2015-16.

Jake Allen will get his fourth consecutive start.

Allen and the Blues are riding a three-game winning streak, and he’s a big reason for that.

The 25-year-old has allowed just three goals in his last three contests.
