Rangers extend point streak to five games by … scoring a lot of points

The New York Rangers are on such a solid run, they’re probably bummed out that they won’t play again until Friday.

After a slow start tonight, the Rangers exerted control over the Calgary Flames, ultimately winning 4-1.

Arguably the most exciting moment came from Kevin Hayes‘ astounding pass to Oscar Lindberg – see the goal above – but either way it was a reminder that the Rangers can light up the scoreboard when they’re clicking.

That they are, too; they’ve earned at least one point in the past five games, going 3-0-2.

For the Calgary Flames, it’s all another reminder that they have a long way to go if they want to prove that last season wasn’t some Cinderella fluke.

It’s not a great time to be the only other team in a stat with the Columbus Blue Jackets, after all:

While Antti Raanta played nicely once again, the Rangers chased Jonas Hiller from Calgary’s net. New York’s really taking care of business at Madison Square Garden, in particular:

This contest sure made it easy to go with Joni Ortio on Monday.
