The Calgary Flames got some good news on Sunday morning, as defenseman T.J. Brodie was on the ice during the team’s morning skate. He was limited during the session, but his return can only be seen as a positive.

It’s the 25-year-old’s first practice since he broke his hand in a preseason game against the Edmonton Oilers earlier this year.

Without Brodie, the Flames are 2-5-0 in 2015-16.

He scored 11 goals and 41 points while averaging just over 25 minutes of ice time per game last season.

Although his return to the ice is good news, don’t expect him to suit up in Sunday’s game against the Rangers.

The news wasn’t as good for Flames forward Micheal Ferland. The 23-year-old left Friday’s game against Detroit, and General Manager Brad Treliving expects him to be out for a while.
