The Philadelphia Flyers have recalled goaltender Jason LaBarbera from Lehigh Valley of the AHL.

The move became necessary after the team lost goaltender Michal Neuvirth to an upper-body injury last Wednesday.

Neuvirth is considered day-to-day and it doesn’t look like he’ll be able to suit up in Saturday’s game against the Rangers.

LaBarbera is the next man up. He will serve as Steve Mason’s backup against New York.

The 35-year-old has a 0-3-0 record with a 4.74 goals-against-average and a .835 save percentage in three games with Lehigh Valley this season.

He appeared in five games with the Anaheim Ducks last season.
