There’s concern in St. Louis, where Blues forward Jaden Schwartz has been taken to the hospital after suffering what sounds like a freak injury in practice.

From the Post-Dispatch (which has since updated its story with quotes, so click on the link):

The team was in the midst of a drill when the left winger slipped and fell and then collided with the goal post.

Players quickly waved for help and trainer Ray Barile came onto the ice, where he tended to Schwartz for a brief moment.

He was eventually carried off by Barile and assistant coach Kirk Muller, putting no pressure on his left leg. Practice quickly resumed.

The Blues say an update on Schwartz will be provided tomorrow. The 23-year-old winger has four assists in seven games.

In the meantime, forward Ty Rattie has been recalled from AHL Chicago. Rattie will play tomorrow at home versus the Islanders.
