Stoll to be a healthy scratch for Rangers tonight in Montreal

Rangers center Jarret Stoll will be a healthy scratch tonight in Montreal.

The 33-year-old was in New York’s lineup for the first four games of the season, but he only received 10:23 of ice time during Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to Winnipeg. Before then, he had been skating four or five minutes more.

Stoll told reporters that he’s still adjusting to his new linemates (he’s skated with Dominic Moore, Jesper Fast, and Tanner Glass) after joining the Rangers as a free agent and that, given Tuesday’s loss, he wasn’t surprised at coach Alain Vigneault’s decision to make changes.

Emerson Etem, acquired in the Carl Hagelin trade with Anaheim, is expected to make his Rangers debut against the Habs.
