The media didn’t get fed last night in Brooklyn

From the Daily News:

The Islanders’ relationship with Barclays Center in their first official week in Brooklyn already is off to a bumpy start.

The two partners have been haggling over a generally minor and silly monetary issue — specifically, the prices the team must pay the arena to provide meals for NHL off-ice officials and purchasable ones for the media.

Because of this dispute, the media covering last night’s Islanders-Devils preseason game didn’t get a pre-game meal.

See?

According to the News, the Isles claim the prices that are being charged by the arena are “exorbitant.”

The arena disagrees, with one source telling the newspaper, “The Islanders perhaps have decided the media isn’t that important to them.”

This is obviously a very serious situation. If there’s one thing that sports fans care deeply about, it’s that their heroes in the press box are happy.

So hopefully this dispute ends soon. Otherwise there could be trouble…
