Erie County D.A. calls press conference to address evidence-tampering allegations in Kane case

Erie County district attorney Frank Sedita has called a press conference for tomorrow morning to address allegations of evidence-tampering in the Patrick Kane sexual assault case.

It was reported earlier today that Sedita’s office had taken into possession the “rape-kit evidence bag” that Kane’s accuser’s lawyer, Thomas Eoannou, claimed had been tampered with.

Eoannou insisted yesterday that the bag was “authentic” and had been “anonymously delivered to the home of” the accuser’s mother.

Sedita promised yesterday to investigate the allegations, which both the Hamburg Police Department and Erie County Central Police Services seemed to refute in separate statements.

Sedita’s press conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET, according to the Chicago Tribune.
