The NHL announced today that Buffalo forward Jason Akeson will have a hearing Friday afternoon for charging/an illegal check to the head of Ottawa’s Colin Greening.
Greening reportedly “left the ice on wobbly legs” after the second-period collision. Ottawa’s Travis Ewanyk reacted by instigating a fight with Akeson.
No penalty was assessed for the hit.
