The Colorado Avalanche are reportedly the front runners to sign forward Derek Ryan.
According to Mike Chambers of The Denver Post, the Avs are currently in negotiations with Ryan on a two-way contract.
Chambers reports the Washington Capitals and Toronto Maple Leafs are also in the mix.
The 28-year-old spent the 2014-15 season with Orebro HK of the Swedish Hockey League leading his team with 60 points in 55 games.
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound forward was never drafted. Prior to this year, Ryan spent three seasons playing professionally in Austria. He led Austria’s top pro league in scoring during the 2013-14 season.
