According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Minnesota Wild will sit down with the agent representing goaltender Deven Dubnyk this week and begin contract talks.
Dubnyk had a fantastic second half of the season following a January trade from the Arizona Coyotes leading the Wild to a playoff spot.
The 29-year-old went 27-9-2 posting a 1.78 G.A.A. and a .936 save percentage to go along with five shutouts while appearing in 39 games for the Wild.
As a result of his solid play, Dubnyk was named a finalist for both the Masterton and Vezina Trophies.
"(Minnesota) is where I want to be. ... I’m not going to look elsewhere if I don’t need to,” Dubnyk said earlier this month, adding, “We’ll do everything we can to make it happen.”
Dubnyk, who signed a one-year $800,000 deal with the Coyotes, is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July.
