The Buffalo Sabres are moving on from Mike Babcock.

Not that they have any choice in the matter.

According to ESPN’s Craig Custance, the Sabres have received permission to interview former Penguins coach Dan Bylsma for their vacancy behind the bench.

The San Jose Sharks have also received permission to interview Bylsma.

Buffalo, San Jose, and Detroit are the three teams that officially have head-coaching vacancies. New Jersey still has Scott Stevens and Adam Oates listed as co-coaches, but that’s likely to change. Boston and St. Louis may still make coaching changes as well.
