The bloodletting in Toronto continues.
On Tuesday, the Leafs shook up their AHL Marlies staff, removing head coach Gord Dineen -- offering him another position behind the bench -- while removing associate coach Derek King and assistant Ben Simon entirely.
Per assistant GM Kyle Dubas, King was relieved of his duties outright, while Simon “has been offered another position with the organization.”

The moves come roughly one month after “Black Sunday,” in which Toronto turfed head coach Peter Horachek, GM Dave Nonis, Director of Pro Scouting Steve Kasper and Director of Player Development Jim Hughes. Team president Brendan Shanahan also relieved a majority of the scouting department of its duties in what was viewed as a major -- and aggressive -- organizational overhaul.
Since then, the Leafs have been interviewing people for a number of vacant positions: Arizona Coyotes assistant (to the) GM Sean Burke, former Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Guy Boucher, Detroit bench boss Mike Babcock and OHL Sault Ste. Marie head coach Sheldon Keefe, who could be in line to replace Dineen with the Marlies.
Keefe has strong ties to Dubas, from their time together with the Greyhounds.
