Columbus Blue Jackets forward Marko Dano will miss the remainder of the World Hockey Championship due to a partially torn MCL in his right knee.
Dano had one goal and two penalty minutes in five games for Slovakia.
According to Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch, Dano’s injury will not require surgery.
The 20-year-old will need 4-5 weeks of rehab and should be ready for the start of Jackets’ training camp in the fall.
In 35 games with the Blue Jackets this season, Dano had 8 goals, 13 assists and a plus-12 rating.
He also appeared in 39 AHL games with Springfield scoring 11 goals and 19 points.
