Boston continues to clean house, fires trio of scouts

CamNeelygetty

Just hours after firing GM Peter Chiarelli, the Bruins kept shaking things up.

On Wednesday afternoon, the B’s dismissed three of their scouts, per team president Cam Neely: European head scout Jukka Holtari and a pair of amateur scouts -- Denis Leblanc and Mike Chiarelli, the latter being Peter’s younger brother.

More, from the club:

Chiarelli spent seven seasons with the Bruins based out of Ottawa and was responsible for scouting prospects in Ontario.

Leblanc, based out of Quebec, spent the previous eight seasons in the Bruins organization.

Holtari, responsible for scouting efforts in Europe, was based in Finland. 2014-15 marked his eighth season with Boston. While not as severe as what we saw out of Toronto on Sunday, Boston’s bloodletting is fairly significant and swiftly responds to a disappointing campaign in which it missed the playoffs for the first time in eight years. The housecleaning might not be done, either. Head coach Claude Julien’s status is up in the air, but expected to be addressed this afternoon when Neely and CEO Charlie Jacobs meet with the media.
