Jean-Gabriel Pageau gave the Ottawa Senators a glimmer of hope as they look to get back into their game and keep their slim playoff hopes alive against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.
Pageau scored on a short-handed rush, making a nice move to the outside then having his pass out front go off the skate of defenseman Derrick Pouliot and in with 5:19 remaining in second period. That cut Pittsburgh’s lead to 3-1.
Just 30 seconds later, while on the same penalty kill, the Senators had another chance to score, but Marc-Andre Fleury made a solid save on David Legwand, who found himself in all alone.
And here is the save from Fleury on Legwand to keep it a two-goal game.
