The Philadelphia Flyers have dropped five of their last six games while defenseman Michael Del Zotto has been recovering from an upper-body injury, but he’ll be back in the lineup tonight, per CSN Philly.

Rather than have him replace one of their other blueliners though, Flyers coach Craig Berube plans to use seven defensemen in Thursday’s contest against the Calgary Flames.

“You know I’m not a big fan of seven defensemen, but with Del Zotto coming back and he’s been out, I don’t know, I don’t want to take a chance,” said Berube.

“And with the air here in Calgary, it’s thin and guys need to take short shifts.”

As a result, it will be Vincent Lecavalier that’s heading to the press box.

Del Zotto has nine goals and 26 points in 54 contests this season.

Philadelphia is 10 points behind in the Wild Card race with 10 games left, so realistically they’re not going to advance to the postseason. This game is very important for Calgary though, which is just a point shy of a playoff spot going into tonight’s action.
