CapGeek founder Matthew Wuest has passed away

Metro Halifax revealed tonight that one of its former sports writers, as well as the creator of CapGeek, Matthew Wuest passed away this morning following a two-and-a-half year fight with colon cancer.

“He was just a great guy who really loved what he did,” Metro Halifax managing editor Philip Croucher said. “I’ve never seen anyone do it better.”

Wuest made a big impact on the hockey world with CapGeek, which was widely seen as one of the best hockey resources available to the public until it suddenly announced in January that it was permanently shut down due to Matthew Wuest’s health.
