Pavel Datysuk will miss at least the next two Red Wings games with a lower-body injury, coach Mike Babcock told reporters today.

The Wings play Thursday and Friday in Sunrise and Tampa, respectively, before returning home to face St. Louis Sunday (on NBC). Babcock wasn’t sure if Datsyuk would be ready to suit up against the Blues.

Datsyuk, 36, has stayed relatively healthy this season, appearing in all but 11 of Detroit’s 68 contests. This after missing almost half of last season’s games with various ailments.

Datsyuk has 58 points, second in team scoring to Henrik Zetterberg, who has 59.

No word if this latest injury is related to the groin issues he experienced earlier in the season.

Update: Apparently it’s a “lower backache.”
