The Dallas Stars announced on Tuesday that they have inked a three-year, entry-level contract with prospect Devin Shore.

The 20-year-old forward has excelled with the University of Maine, recording 14 goals and 35 points in 39 NCAA contests in 2014-15. He was similarly productive last season with 14 goals and 43 points in 35 games.

“Devin has tremendous hockey sense and he is ready to continue his development at the professional level,” said Stars GM Jim Nill. “Red Gendron and his staff at the University of Maine did an excellent job of preparing Devin and giving him the tools to make this transition.”

Shore was taken with the 61st overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. The Ontario native also had the opportunity to play in the OHL, but as a “small kid” he felt he needed more time to develop. He now stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs 205 pounds.
