Matt Murray is just 30 AHL games into his professional career, but so far the Pittsburgh Penguins prospect has far surpassed expectations. On Saturday he turned aside all 32 shots he faced against the Manchester Monarchs in his fourth consecutive shutout.

He hasn’t allowed a goal in 245:22 minutes, which puts him within striking distance of the AHL record held by Barry Brust (268:17). He’s also just shy of Hall of Famer Johnny Bower’s AHL mark of 249:51 back in 1951, per AHL.com.

Saturday’s shutout was Murray’s ninth this season, tying the 73-year-old rookie record. Gordie Bell (1941-42) and Wade Dubielewicz (2003-04) currently share that record with the 20-year-old goaltender.

Murray has a 1.59 GAA and .939 save percentage with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in 2014-15. He was taken in the third round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
