Stars send Cole to the Wings for prospects (Confirmed)

The Dallas Stars have sent forward Erik Cole and a conditional third-round 2015 draft pick to the Detroit Red Wings for prospects Mattias Backman and Mattas Janmark-Nylen.

The Stars also picked up a 2015 second-round pick in the deal.

Cole has 18 goals and 33 points in 57 games with the Stars this season.

The 36-year-old is in the final year of a four-year, $18 million deal and becomes an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Backman, 22, has four goals and 16 points in 23 games with Linkopings HC in the Swedish Hockey League. The defenseman also played 18 AHL games this season with the Grand Rapids Griffins registering 4 assists and a minus-3 rating.

Janmark-Nylen has appeared in 53 games with Frolunda in the SHL this season. The 22-year-old forward has 13 goals and 23 assists.
