Hockey Hall of Famer Luc Robitaille will join some exclusive company on Mar. 7.
That day, the Los Angeles Kings will erect a statue of his likeness outside Staples Center, alongside other legendary Los Angeles sporting icons: Wayne Gretzky, Magic Johnson, Jerry West, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Chick Hearn and Oscar De La Hoya.

As a tribute to legendary Kings player and the NHL’s All-Time Leading Scoring Left Winger, the Los Angeles Kings, STAPLES Center and AEG organizations commissioned the creation of a bronze statue and granite pedestal totaling 2500 lbs., nearly 19’ of the Hockey Hall of Famer.
The ceremony, which is open free to the public, will be highlighted by speeches from Luc Robitaille, members of his family and other individuals who were his teammates, colleagues and friends during his unprecedented career and will conclude with an incredible unveiling of the statue.
Robitaille, 49, appeared in over 1,000 games over 14 seasons in Los Angeles, and had his No. 20 retired in 2007. He currently serves as the Kings’ President of Business Operations.
