The Boston Bruins may be in Vancouver to play the Canucks tonight, but it doesn’t sound like Brad Marchand will be mock-raising the Stanley Cup as part of the festivities.
In hindsight, Marchand recognizes his actions weren’t the best idea.
“At the time, I felt I wanted to do it and, looking back, I probably shouldn’t have,” he said, per the Vancouver Sun.
“That was just an immature situation that I put myself in and the biggest thing is they want me to be more responsible with my actions. The only thing that might be different is I know I can’t be doing stuff like that.”
To be fair to Marchand, he was one of the few B’s who played well in that game, which Vancouver ended up winning, 6-2.
As for tonight’s contest, Milan Lucic put it this way: “If people want to look at that (2011 final) and kind of create more excitement for the game, that’s great. But at the end of the day, just because of where both teams are in the standings, I think both teams are more focused on getting that win.”
