Bill Foley and his Hockey Vision Las Vegas group are off to a solid start with their season ticket drive, as the group has reportedly received 5,000 deposits over the first two days.
“All the seats in all the sections are selling really well. They’re pretty even distributed,” Foley said, per the Las Vegas Review Journal. “We’re off to a good start. We hope to see the Las Vegas community rally around this great cause and continue to buy deposits.”
When the ticket drive began on Feb. 10, Foley and company made 10K in ticket sales its goal. While NHL commissioner Gary Bettman -- who was in attendance for the kickoff presser -- has said repeatedly that there no promises have been given to Las Vegas about a potential expansion team, Foley believes that if he hits the 10,000 sold mark, he’ll be in terrific shape to bring the first “big four” professional sports franchise to Sin City.
“[Bettman] said ‘sell tickets,’” Foley explained last week. “He said ‘don’t talk about anything except selling your tickets.’”
Foley’s group has been buoyed by the inclusion of Joe and Gavin Maloof, the brother duo that developed the Palms casino and owned the NBA’s Sacramento Kings from 1998-2013. The trio has created a group of 75 Vegas-based individuals (largely business owners, lawyers and community leaders) to each sell 60 ticket deposits.
According to the Review-Journal, four of those 75 individuals have already sold more than 100 deposits each.
