Report: Canucks’ Tanev experiencing concussion-like symptoms

Vancouver Canucks v Florida Panthers

As you can see, Canucks coach Willie Desjardins wasn’t too anxious to discuss why defensemen Chris Tanev would be unavailable for tonight’s key game versus the Sharks.

Yannick Weber will draw into the lineup for Tanev, who’s normally Alex Edler’s reliable partner on Vancouver’s first pairing. Tanev’s absence stands to be a significant one, especially with veteran Kevin Bieksa already out injured.

One report suggests that Tanev is experiencing concussion-like symptoms.

If true, the Canucks better hope those symptoms don’t last long, because they can’t afford to get any thinner on the blue line.
