Dallas Stars forward Vernon Fiddler tried to get under Colorado Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov’s skin early in Tuesday’s contest by getting in his face. Varlamov felt Fiddler took things too far though when he poked his pad and responded by knocking Fiddler’s stick away. There was no penalty called, so Fiddler had to skate over to retrieve his stick before rejoining the action.
You can see that below:
Varlamov went on to have a great night, stopping 30 of 32 shots and finishing on top in the 11-round shootout that followed. Fiddler didn’t end up getting a point during regulation time and his one-on-one opportunity during the skills competition didn’t go his way.
