Brandon Prust was busy early in the Montreal Canadiens’ game against the Buffalo Sabres. He took a holding penalty at 6:05 of the first period that Montreal successfully killed off.
After the 30-year-old forward came out of the box, he delivered a hard center ice check to defenseman Tyler Myers, which allowed David Desharnais to take control of the puck. Prust skated towards the net along with Desharnais, putting himself in a position to fire a one-timer past Sabres goaltender Jhonas Enroth.

For Buffalo, that was the lone blemish on what was otherwise a strong first period. The Sabres went into the intermission with a 3-1 lead.
