Dallas Stars forward Valeri Nichushkin made another step in his recovery on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old, who underwent hip surgery in November, stepped on the ice for the first time since going under the knife.
The team announced that Nichushkin would require four months of rehab likely taking him into March.
The Russian has appeared in just four games this season with Dallas. He also dressed in two American Hockey League games with the Texas Stars on a conditioning assignment.
Nichushkin had 14 goals and 34 points in 79 games during the 2013-14 season.
